Producer and Import Price Index fell in September by 0.2%
Neuchâtel, 14.10.2025 — The Producer and Import Price Index fell in September 2025 by 0.2% compared with the previous month, reaching 105.3 points (December 2020 = 100). In particular, petroleum and natural gas as well as petroleum products saw falling prices. Green coffee, on the other hand, became more expensive. Compared with September 2024, the price level of the whole range of domestic and imported products fell by 1.8%. These are the results of the Federal Statistical Office (FSO).
Rising prices were recorded compared with the previous month in the Producer Price Index, particularly for raw milk. In contrast, slaughter pigs and pork became cheaper.
Petroleum and natural gas in particular were responsible for a fall in the Import Price Index compared with August 2025. Prices also fell for petroleum products, motor vehicles and motor vehicle parts, workwear (outerwear), other transport equipment and pharmaceutical preparations. On the other hand, green coffee and mobile computers became more expensive.
